Hello. My name is Margaret M. Buell. I was born August 22, 1918. Everyone knew me as “Sherrie”. If you are reading this I have left this life for a life everlasting. I was preceded by my husband Frank “Earl” Buell and my daughter Trudy Ann Buell. I am survived by my sister Francis Keltner, my son Frank Lee Buell wife Lexie, grandson Frank Ryan Buell wife Sheryee, granddaughter Samantha K. Buell and six wonderful great grandchildren Baylee, Cooper, Pressley, Rori, Rylee and Rowen. I am also survived by my extended family who came to visit me multiple times in the hospital. Rita Williams, Andy Williams, Vicki Cole and Lynn Ann Crowley. I must also say goodbye to all my life long friends, new friends I have made, to my cousins, nieces and nephews too many to list in the short space. I have had a wonderful life. Raised in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, a Tiger graduate and continued my education at Research College of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse. My first job was a nurse in the emergency room at Research Hospital, then on to become an office nurse for doctors Langus, Fowler and Dunham in North Kansas City. My next position was the district school nurse for the Excelsior Springs School District. Enjoying this job for several years the district made plans to construct an area vocational school. One of the courses to be offered was Nursing and Health Occupations. Always welcoming a challenge I enrolled at the University of Missouri, Columbia and earned my Bachelor’s Degree and began my teaching career. During my life I was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority where I made very dear lifelong friends. I was also active in the Research Alumni Association with my close fellow graduate, Clara Long. After retiring from teaching I had the opportunity to travel in our RV with Earl, family and friends, a wonderful way to see North America and Mexico. I also enjoyed dancing, playing bridge and entertaining family and friends. What a wonderful 98years of life. I want to say thank you to Westbrook Villas in Kearney, Missouri and Benton House of Tiffany Springs for making the late years of my life so special. Also a special thank you to the staff of North Kansas City Hospital and the North Kansas City Hospice Center, your kindness and care to me and my family was so greatly appreciated. If I have forgotten anyone or anything I sincerely apologize. It is my prayer each of you reading this find peace in my passing. May the Lord wrap his arms around you and keep you safe. Earl put another nickel in the juke box your dance partner is coming home.
A visitation will be held Sept. 24 from 10:00am to 11:30am, with funeral service beginning at 11:30 both at White Chapel Funeral Home. Internment immediately following at Floral Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers I am requesting a memorial donation to “The Research Foundation” for the nursing scholarship fund. 2316 East Meyer Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64132
