She graduated from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in Atchison, KS in 1962 and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, CO in 1965. She married Ronald Hansen in 1966 and the couple moved to Chicago. where she began a life-long career in nursing. The couple raised two children who remember her as a loving, compassionate, and dedicated mother who devoted her life to helping others. They enjoyed several years of retirement in Venice, FL before returning to the Midwest to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lionel and Clara Senecal, her husband Ronald Hansen, brothers Fr. Gerard, William, Richard, Abbot Barnabas, and sister Clare.
Mary is survived by her children, Frederick (Alison) of Yorkville, IL and Marc (Jennifer) of Gladstone, MO; two grandsons, Andrew and Daniel, and brother Nicholas Senecal.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Gardens at Barry Road and Ascend Hospice for their care and dedication.
