Mary Louise Schroeder (Dugan) and Alfred Edward Schroeder Jr., aged 89 and 94, died unexpectedly on September 27, 2021 and July 14, 2021. Mary was born on October 2, 1931 in Orrick, Missouri to Elnora Dugan (Ross) and Forest Connie Dugan. Alfred was born on December 21, 1926 in Lexington, Missouri to Alfred Edward Schroeder Sr and Mable Louise Schroeder (Bruns). Mary graduated from Chillicothe Business School and worked as a secretary and an accountant. After High School, Alfred worked as a Linotype machine operator and the couple was married in 1953 in Lexington, Missouri. After moving to Kansas City, Missouri, they welcomed 2 sons into their home, Michael Edward Schroeder and James Price Schroeder. Both sons have since passed, but Michael’s children Jeremy Alan Schroeder and Amanda Lynn Schroeder, remember their grandparents as kind, generous, and gentle caregivers who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Mary was a skilled cook with a passion for genealogy and could often be found completing as many crosswords and sudoku puzzles as she could get a hold of. Alfred was a Veteran with the United States Army, a skilled craftsman, all around handyman and dedicated individual who loved taking care of his friends and family. He was an active and dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America and often volunteered his time, energy and skills to the organization. They both enjoyed square dancing with their friends and where they would often take their grandchildren along.
The family would like to thank Liberty Hospital and Ashton Court Care and Rehabilitation Center for their dedicated care. The family is grateful that Mary Louise Schroeder was able to pass with dignity.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family will not be having traditional services. A small family and friend gathering will hopefully be planned at a future date.
