Marylyn K. Wheeler, 86 of Kansas City, MO passed away September 2, 2017. A funeral will be held September 6, 2017 at Avondale Methodist Church at 10:00 am with a visitation one hour prior. Committal will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Marylyn was born and raised in Hiawatha, KS and came to Kansas City in 1949 to attend St. Lukes School of Nursing graduating in 1952. Marylyn married Dave Wheeler in 1954 and they were married for 53 years before Dave passed in 2007. Marylyn and Dave are the proud parents of 4 children (Candace, Mitch, John Wheeler and Sharon Brown) and 8 grandkids (Amber and Patrick Wheeler, Matt and Zach Brown and Jeremy Wheeler, Kelsey Wheeler, Alexis Potter and Seth Wheeler). Marylyn had a mom’s, grandmother’s and nurse’s heart …always putting the needs of others before her own. She also did an amazing job of creating a home environment that made everyone feel welcomed. Marylyn proclaimed Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was very involved in many activities at Avondale Methodist Church.
