Max Vandel, 80, of Kansas City, MO passed away June 4, 2016. Max loved to spend time with his family especially watching his grandchildren participate in sports and other events; he enjoyed woodworking and had an interest in aviation. He was an avid Royals and Chiefs fan who also enjoyed watching local college basketball. Max married Carolyn Ann Moore on May 24, 1959 in Princeton, Mo. They moved to the Kansas City area in the early sixties. Together they had three sons John (Rhonda) of Liberty, MO, Jim of North Kansas City, MO and Jeff (Kathi) of Weston, MO. Max dearly loved his six grandchildren, Mattie, Emily, Olivia, Jonah, Cole, and Libby. Max also welcomed and loved as family Michelle, Kameron and Kaleb Murray. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Eckley of Ft. Worth, TX, and his wife Carolyn of Kansas City, MO. Max is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Alice Vandel; his sister Shirley Puffer and his brother Tommy Van Dell. A visitation will be held Monday, June 13 from 6-8pm at White Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 14 at 10am also at White Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside service will take place at 1:00pm at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Princeton Missouri.
