

The family is deeply saddened by his death. Mike was born on May 28th, 1957 in Kansas City KS to Barbara Ann Moore and Wm. Jerry Moore. He graduated from Oak Park High School in 1975 with Athletic letters in Football, Basketball, and Baseball which remained a passion throughout his life. Mike’s exceptional talent as a pitcher did not go unnoticed by family, friends, teammates, coaches, the local press, or baseball talent scouts. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox after high school graduation where he then spent the next four years playing in the minor leagues before returning to Kansas City in the early 1980’s. He married Carol Patrick of Kansas City MO in February 1980. Mike and Carol welcomed their beloved son, Kevin Michael Moore, into their lives on April 2, 1982. Mike truly cherished being Kevin’s Dad. Mike became a member of the Millwright local #1529 in 1982 which continued to be his career until his recent retirement. He lent his millwright skills to Automatic Systems Incorporated, Ford Motor Company, and various other companies and corporations during his time working. Mike’s passion for baseball never faded, he worked with kids of all ages as a baseball coach and then umpiring baseball games until recent times. He shared his talent, knowledge, skill, and love of the game with all he touched. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had a big heart and he would give you anything he had to give if you were in need.
He is preceded in death by his treasured younger brother, William Adam Moore of Liberty MO, his sister Deborah Ann Endecott of Liberty MO, his maternal grandparents Adam Alexander and Violet Lucille Hagen of Kansas City, MO his paternal grandparents William Laverne and Mildred Elizabeth Moore of Kansas City, MO, along with other cherished Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
Mike is survived by his loving parents, Wm Jerry and Barbara Ann Moore of Camdenton MO, his son Kevin Michael Moore of Kansas City MO, his sisters Cynthia Kay Cox (husband John William Cox) of Smithville MO, and Wendy Lucille Doyle (husband Michael Ray Doyle) of Lathrop MO, his long- time girlfriend Patsy Saving of Parkville MO, and many other dear Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on January 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm at White Chapel Cemetery, located at 6600 N Antioch Rd in Gladstone MO. All family and close friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Mike’s life.
