He was born on October 6, 1936 and raised in Platte County, Nebraska on a farm. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1954.
He married the love of his life, Sandi (Pilfold) in 1959. Over the next few years, they welcomed two children, Cheryl and Patrick.
He had many jobs through his early years, but finally made the decision to move to Omaha where he went to trade school to learn HVAC. They then moved to Kansas City where he started his HVAC career with AB May and worked there for 36 years, retiring as a Service Supervisor.
Ralph loved spending time with his family, watching the Chiefs and Royals as well as Nascar and the Oregon Ducks. His yard was his pride and joy which he took care of meticulously while he could He also enjoyed traveling with Sandi where they spent several winters in Phoenix enjoying the sunshine and warmth.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sandi; daughter Cheryl (Jim) ferguson; son, Patrick (Sue) Greisen; two grandchildren, Andrea (Patrick) Short of Marietta and Justin (Megan) Wood of Kauai; four great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Molly Short and Max and Maizie Wood.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, December 15, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home. Committal service will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
