Born August 22, 1928, in Bronx, New York to Julius I. and Nella (Delton) Pashen. He graduated from Long Island City High School with the Class of 1946. He would then go on to New London Junior College earning an associate’s degree in 1948. Then he earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from Queens College in 1950.
In 1950 he was drafted in the US Army and served in Germany with the 43rd Infantry Division until 1952 when he was honorably discharged as a Corporal. In 1953 he married the love of his life, Ann (Nan) Eileen Townson and together they made their home in Elmont, New York.
Ron worked for TWA starting in 1952 in New York and then in 1987 made the move to TWA PARS/Worldspan Reservations System in Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 1993.
Ron was an avid New York Yankees Fan seeing many games in Old Yankee Stadium in the Bronx from the time of a young child into his adulthood, where many of the greats played ball. Ron was present in 2014, when Derek Jeter played his last game in Kauffman Stadium. When he wasn’t watching the Yankees he tuned into the NY Giants, NY Rangers, and NY Knicks.
One of Ron’s greatest accomplishments was being the “World's Greatest Dad”. One of the most repeated compliments of Ron was that he was a consummate gentleman. Ron’s family made the journey from across the country and abroad to spend time with him before his passing.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ann (Nan) Pashen; his parents and an infant brother and sister.
Survivors include his daughter, Nella (Tony) Mann; sons, Ronald, Jr. (Lisa) Pashen and Michael (Peggy) Pashen; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Caleb) Dady, Margaret Mann (Mat Walton), Brian (Morgan) Pashen, Jason Pashen, Ronald Pashen, Meaghan Pashen; four great grandchildren
Ron's service will be private.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that everyone should root for the New York Yankees at least one game the rest of the 2025 season (preferably against the Red Sox).
