

Roy Allen Frisbey, age 72, of Kearney, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty Missouri, surrounded by his two daughters, Ashly and Alex and several loved ones.
He was born February 14, 1951, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Charles Clay and Betty Jean (Humphreys-Edwards) Frisbey. He attended William Chrisman High School and acquired his GED, in order to enlist in the Air Force before turning 18, so he could follow in his family’s military footsteps.
During his enlistment in the United States Air Force, he served at Whiteman Airforce Base and completed his tour of his duty stationed in Galena, Alaska as a Sgt. in Crash and Rescue. After serving his time in the military, he wore several hats, including running a boys group home with our mother, Laurie and serving as a firefighter in Topeka, Kansas. He then served as a Deputy Sheriff, along with running a girls group-home and as a firefighter in Columbus, Nebraska. It is here that he became the foster father to Sandy Pasch, our loving foster sister. He also served as the youngest Assistant Chief Firefighter of Richards Gebaur Air Force Base for several years. Prior to retirement, Roy owned and operated a HAZMAT company before his final employment with Time Warner.
Roy was very passionate about the water, with a love for sailboats and always wanted to go retire in the islands on Serenity, his very own sailboat.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 61 and he made several friends there over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Frisbey and Betty Powers;
Roy is survived by his older siblings, Ronald of Smithville, Howard (Pat) of Nebraska, Mike (Marcia) of Independence and Debbie of Seymour, Missouri. His two loving daughters, Ashly (Mike) of Kearney and Alexandra (Aulia) of Excelsior Springs. His grandchildren, Darcie (Derek) of Liberty, Dylan of Hamilton, Drake and Delanie of Kearney, Ryah of Excelsior Springs, and great grandson, Oliver of Liberty.
A visitation for Roy will be held Monday, February 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.
