

Sharla was born on September 20, 1959, at Arkansas City, KS. She graduated from Oak Park High School in 1977. Sharla worked for the Gas Service Company before she moved to Texas in 1982 to marry Harold Peter Meyer. She moved back to Kansas City after her husband’s death in 1983. She worked for Berbiglia Wine & Spirits. Received her Manicurist License. She spent many years of her life at Antioch Dog & Cat Hospital, where she adopted her cat Magic, followed by her hairbow loving dog Mandy, then came Maggie May, and survived by her final best friend Penny Lane. Sharla had been a proud owner of several Volkswagen Beetles. She was active in her 20’s and 30’s, canoeing and camping, playing soccer, softball (Go Outlaws), swimming, Doggy 5 k’s. Sharla loved her Chiefs. There wasn’t a bigger fan. She also loved her nieces and nephews, loved her some hugs.
Preceding her in death were her parents William Arthur and Maridene Louise (Harris) Arndt and brother William A Arndt, Jr.
Sharla is survived by her stepmother, Deanna K. Arndt of Neosho, Mo.; brother and his wife, Milton D. and Laurie J. Arndt; nephew and his wife, Waylon T. and Megan D. Arndt; niece, Prudence L. Courtemanche; niece and her husband Loren L. and Robert P. Barclay; nephew, Bricen G. Halvorsen; great-nephews, Krishan D. Nelson, Barrett T Arndt, Aden L Arndt; great-nieces Cameron D. Barclay, Emmalynn L. Barclay, all of Kansas City, Mo.
Visitation will be 10-11 AM, Memorial Service at 11 AM at Newcomer’s White Chapel Funeral Home, Services can be viewed via Zoom (with Meeting ID: 852 4217 4507 Passcode: 498455 from 10:45 AM - 12 PM)
Graveside Service directly following service in White Chapel Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at The VFW Post 5606, 5406 NE Oak Ridge Dr., KCMO 64119, Saturday November 13, 2021.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Wayside Waifs, in care of White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119.
