Cancer. Sharon was born on June 7th, 1959, in Independence Missouri to Jim and Joann Edwards. She
grew up in Trenton, Missouri where she attended grade school through High School. At the age of 18
Sharon married her high school sweetheart, gave birth to her first child Janice, and moved to Liberty,
Missouri. A few years later in 1981, she welcomed her second child, Ian. Sharon spent her entire adult
life in the Kansas City area where she worked full time and raised her family. After spending a few years
in the banking and real estate industries, she ultimately landed a position in the medical field, which was
her lifelong passion from an early age. She quickly gained a reputation for being a caring and
compassionate coworker, with a generous, witty and determined personality. She would tell you that
earning the smiles of her patients faces put a smile on hers. She was incredibly proud of, at the age of
60, earning her doctor trained, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant designation.
Ultimately, what was most important for Sharon were Family and the lifelong relationships with her
friends. She said that seeing their accomplishments in life gave her great joy and provided her with her
proudest moments.
