Shelley Donahue, 52, of Gladstone, MO was called home on January 4, 2017 after a brief, but brave, battle with cancer. Shelley was welcomed to this world on March th, 1964 by her loving parents, Morgan and Octavia Donahue, and was the proud baby sister of “Bren and Rhon”. She grew up and lived in Gladstone and graduated from North Kansas City High School. Shortly after graduation, she started working for Murphy Hoffman (MHC Kenworth) where she had a long and successful accounting career that spanned over 33 years. She was loved and well respected by the entire MHC team and was considered a pillar of the organization. Shelley was an amazing person who had the soul of an artist, a heart of gold, and the will and determination of a true fighter. She lit up every room that she ever walked into with her wit and her smile; she just made life brighter. Her talents and passions were numerous – she loved animals of all kinds, she loved gardening, was an excellent craft beer brewer, and could fix or repair ANYTHING! She is and will always be a true original. Shelley was preceded in death by her beloved “Pops”, Morgan Donahue. She is loved and survived by her Mom; Octavia, sister, Brenda Hubbs and husband, Bob; sister, Rhonda Mayo; loving nephews, Adam Mayo and Jonathan Hubbs; very special friend, Lori Gorman; lifelong friends, the Tyler and Ford families, and many, many friends that she touched and left her indelible mark on. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or to Wayside Waifs. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
