Born to the late Ralph and Vera Pasley in Kansas City, Missouri. Shirley was born in September of 1941 the youngest of 9 children. She would graduate from Kansas City’s Northeast High School in 1959 where she would meet, and later marry, the love of her life Sal Arello Jr. The two would eventually settle in Gladstone where Shirley was a devoted mother to her children Paula Sharples, Laura Arello, Rachel Burton, and Sal Michael Arello. She faithfully attended St. Charles Borromeo Church.
Shirley was accomplished in her career goals and retired from North Kansas City Hospital. She, alongside her sister, Florence, co-founded Tax Service Consultants, a female owned business that would provide for generations of women in her family. Outside of Business Shirley was quite lucky at every table she played at, and delighted in beating anyone at cards, poker, golf, and wahoo. She brought that good luck to her favorite team The Kansas City Chiefs where she was a regular season ticket holder and enjoyed the victory of 3 Super Bowl teams. Shirley loved nothing more than family vacations, and would credit them with some of her favorite memories. To those that knew her, Shirley was warm, loving, a good listener and a good friend.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Sal Arello Jr and her siblings Ethel Pasley, Richard Pasley, Frank Pasley, Keith Pasley, Christopher Pasley, and Florence Stevens.
