Steve Breshears of Gladstone, MO departed this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at North Kansas City Hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones. Steven Kelly Breshears was born on February 22, 1966 in Kansas City, MO to Warren Kelly Breshears and Diana Lynn (Raemer) Park. He was the first of their three sons. Steve was loving, gentle, smart and charismatic from the day he was born. Talent came naturally to Steve and he was good at everything he did. He was athletic, mechanically inclined, and the king of music trivia and song lyrics, often making up his own lyrics for a good laugh.
He graduated from Oak Park High School in 1984. Shortly after graduating, he and Amy (Ross) Breshears began dating and welcomed a daughter, Danielle (Breshears) Parker in 1986. Steve and Amy married on January 14, 1988. Steve went on to dedicate over 34 years of his life working in the metal fabrication field. Almost 20 of those years were spent working at the Harley Davidson manufacturing plant when it was located in Kansas City. He made some of the best friends of his life through his employment and kept these relationships strong for years.
Steve brought joy to everyone he knew. He was so cool without trying and people looked up to him. His smile literally lit up rooms and his singing and sense of humor could do the same. Steve was everyone’s “go-to” guy. He was always willing to lend a hand, give support, or donate his time, money and skills. Steve was just one phone call away.
He loved his family, friends, music, nature, fires, his chainsaw, sports, and his dogs. Over the years, his hobbies have included playing softball, football, bowling, basketball, hunting, riding his motorcycle, being a part time lumberjack, attending concerts, and spending time at his farm, where he mowed and cared for the cows and fish.
Steve is survived by wife, Amy Breshears; daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Jason Parker; granddaughter, Tycie Parker, who he was so incredibly proud of; maternal grandmother, Twila Rice; father, Kelly Breshears; mother and step-father, Diana and Raymond Park; brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Jennifer Breshears; sister, Crystal Salierno; sister, Stephanie Park Jackson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Eric Lee Breshears.
Relatives and friends are invited to the casual, open house style, Memorial Visitation at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO, 64119 on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
