Memories of my nephew Steven your birth was the highlight for the family, first day at school, high school and to see you a few years back grown into a loving and kind man, to young to go, knowing you are with your dad, uncle and both grandparents brings me peace until we meet again Auntie spider and your cousins Sam, Amanda and Sean

We were exciting when our little cousin was born and we had lots of cuddles of him. We watched him grow into a loving and caring boy. It was fun to play at Nan's before our sit down Sunday baked dinner with Uncle Herman, Aunty Spider,  my mum and dad with his mum and dad. We would have a great lunch and catch up. 

Steve lived with me for a year and he found his first full time job. Bought his first car, a dark green Holden Gemini.  He would tinker and work on his car. He loved the idea of it being on the road.

I didn't see him after he moved to America but know that he liked living there and had some great mates. We would met up 2 years ago and he had not changed, still the same Steve. Good for a chat and easy going.

Although we lived a long way from each other, I think of you often.

How can words ever describe the warm hearted nature of "Steve -O"?  Whether it was helping him replace a worn out ball joint or trying to install a hydrogen generator to improve the fuel economy of his car, Steve was always interested in automobiles.  I always enjoyed the time that I spent in his company.  He had a quick and easy laugh - but never at anyone else's expense.  It was just easy to spend time with him.  The world is a lesser place without him.  As his friend, I shall miss him terribly.  To his family, all I can offer is to say that he lived his life on his own terms and loved you all deeply.

I was a good friend of Steve's when he first moved over. I remember always talking about the difference between American stuff and Australian stuff. One day Steve had a craving for something we just couldn't figure out what he was talking about.  Jason and me where just laughing to the point of crying trying to figure out why Steve wanted to eat fairy floss. After a lengthy discussion we finally figured out Steve wanted Cotton Candy!!!! It's still one of the funniest things to me every time I see cotton candy I tell the story of fairy floss and Steve.  I love you man you always knew how to make me laugh. 

Our lasting memory with Steven was when Rosilyn and I went to America and Kerrie and Mark and Steven showed us around and I remember thinking what a great young man Steve had become . His great personality made the trip that much better like when we went to Boulder city and caught a Hummer back to Los Vagas. Going through desert on the way back and we pulled up to have our happy Hummer meal . Will always be missed and in our hearts . Love uncle Pete and aunty Ros.xoxox

One afternoon while I was working at the local bakery at Gwandalan, a cheeky 14 year old came in and asked if I was giving away any free food. From this moment our friendship began and we became inseparable. Only living up the road from were I worked I remember He’d always wave from his second story balcony and yell out, “come up when you’ve finished work”. 
Despite attending different schools, We’d see each other most afternoons and weekends. I then got my licence and we’d spend hours cruising around the coast, he even convinced me to let him drive once. 

When Steven moved to America I was shattered. After several years of no contact, we finally found each other on social media and our friendship took off again. We would talk for hours. I’d have him on loud speaker and I’d get on with my day like he was right there with me. Quite often we’d fall asleep while still on loud speaker, then I’d suddenly wake up in the middle of the night to steve snoring. 

2 years ago he came back home to Australia and I was lucky enough to spend almost 2 straight weeks with him. All he wanted to do was swim in the ocean so we spent time at his favourite beach Catho. We went for walks and did a spot of night fishing. I’m forever great full for being able to see Steven that one last time. 
Steve was a loveable joker and he always new how to make me laugh.

Steven was more like a brother than a cousin to me ..
At one point we lived together for about a year .
Our adventures started when we were little kids . hide and seek id put him in nans bread bin ,when id go find him . He was either asleep or eating nans bread . Auntie kerrie had to sit me down to remind me he was not  a dolly ..As id put make up on him . i do not think that was a talk she was ready for ..we were only little .
When we lived together , Sunday night was always family night . Id make a roast , He would watch .
One time i asked for help , our dinner ended up with either raw or burnt vegetables and our gravy was made from icing sugar .
We sat down and ate it all , and laughed for hours because it was really that bad ..
I am going to miss our facetime calls and you telling me about America .
I saw you two years ago , was like we had never been apart ..  We talked for hours most of the time you were excited about having a pie ..

I recall that Steven would be right behind Val as she was making a roast .
And if little nanny who lived up the road was making a roast .
You bet that Steven was there . We always said that he could smell a roast cooking from a mile away .

My favourite memory of Steven was when he and auntie karry came over to Australia 2 years ago, I remember sitting out the back of my parents place and he was so amazed  that it cost $3.50 for one piece of kfc chicken haha he was saying in the state it was only $0.99c or something , I remember  that night all of us Cousins  sat out the back around the fire pit sharing stories and laughing so much. I remember we all went out on the town and Steven was looking after us girls like a big brother, even though auntie Kerry  and Stevens  visit to Australia wasn’t under great circumstances we had the best time and it will be a Memory I’ll cherish for ever.

Steven I miss you very much, rip.
