A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, August 3 at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 N.E. Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri. Friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
Wes was born May 31, 1936 in Clay County, Missouri to Ross and Catherine (Blackburn) Pryor. He graduated from North Kansas City High School where he lettered in many sports and excelled at making many lifelong friends.
He was a lithographer and known for his keen eye to detail and ability to recognize from across the room a piece of offprint paper among piles of Christmas wrapping paper.
He enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake boating and fishing. Wes spent many hours patiently (yes patiently) teaching his kids, grandkids and all of their friends to water ski. When not pulling water skiers he engaged in his real passion, bass fishing, where many big fish lost their lives and even bigger ones lived to be the subject of his colorful fish stories. He was the true angler extraordinaire!
After the death of his wife, Geneva, he moved to Wexford Place where he was known for his smile, his outgoing personality, and his morning trips to carry in all of the newspapers. He never turned down trips to the store for snacks or to the casinos.
Wes is survived by his children Vicki (Mike) Ross, Wes (Amy) Pryor, Butch (Tammy) Schasteen, Greg (Sharon) Pryor, Sherri (Chris) Newberry, many grandchildren and a growing number of great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Ross and Grace Pryor and Catherine and Ralph Willard, and his son Kenneth Schasteen.
