

Yvonne "Sis" McFarland slipped from her earthly body into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, at The Gardens at Barry Road. She leaves her oldest son Cale McFarland (Suzi); her youngest daughter Sherry Stout (Tom); and daughter-in-law Debi McFarland; four grandchildren, Chris McFarland, Cara McFarland, Sarah Tiengo, Ali Schuller; ten step-grandchildren, Sarah Bassett, Laura Oliver, Lindsay Barber, Matthew Barber, Jennifer Lapthorn, Sherry Coons, Wade Young, Dana Lisson, Monica Erdmann and Tom Stout Jr.; twenty-nine great grandchildren; sisters Cindy Rose and Judy Hirsch, sister-in-law Ruth Ann West, brother-in-law John McFarland (Sue), nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by husband Glennon McFarland, son Steve McFarland, daughter Susan McFarland Waddell and four brothers and a great granddaughter.
Sis was born on April 16th, 1930, in Henry County, Missouri, and was the second oldest of seven children. The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, when she was young. Sis attended North Kansas City High School and graduated in 1948 with the honor of being homecoming queen her senior year. She was also awarded a scholarship to William Woods College in St. Louis, Missouri.
At North Kansas City High School, she met Judge Glennon McFarland, the love of her life. Her story was that she saw him hanging from a tree limb and knew he was the one! They married after high school and lived in the northland for over fifty years, enjoying golf, camping, painting, and dancing! She made this world a better place. All who knew her will deeply miss her love for life and living to the fullest.
A memorial service for Sis will be on Tuesday, December 27 at 10am at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Ascend Hospice, 783 NE Anderson Lane, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064.
