The world has lost a wonderful person in Alex. I  have so many memories of Alex and Sophie. He coached my son in little league and then we would watch our boys, Ruben, and Richard play high school ball together. 
I worked at Fry's and on Saturday mornings he would bring me huevos rancheros. When Sophie went through my line we would have to be very careful as we would get very loud!
So Blessed to have known this family.

Thank you for being an amazing father to our son in law Pedro. You already know but we just want to express how proud of him we are. He has turned out to be just like you Alejandro. He is a good man, a hard worker, a great dad, a loving husband and always provides for my baby and grandbabies.  He serves his family and his country selflessly. We are soo lucky that we had you in our lives and we will continue to have you in Pedro and in Gunner. Their smile and their laugh. And our Olyvia has your kind heart and joy for life. They loved their Tata so very much. Each move they made you helped make it a home. 
Our condolences to the family. We are hurting with you. And we pray you find comfort knowing "Tata" is in heaven. He will be missed by so many.

Tio Alejandro, you left us too soon.  My   nana Esther is so lucky to have you as her brother. You always had the best humor. It brings me to tears knowing you wont be here anymore to make jokes about how when I was little, I jumped off the roof by accident and landed on my back. 🤣 You’d always call me “La Super Girl” or “La Fly Girl” 😫😂  You’d say to me “aye super girl! quieres volar??” Lol! You will be missed deeply 💙

We would like to preface this by saying how hard this has been for our family. We aren’t even immediate family but we feel like we are because Alex (Tata) made us feel that way. We are once removed with belonging to JoJos side of the family but we couldn’t be luckier that she married Uncle Pete and we got to know Tata. The way he made us feel could only be described as soft, sweet, special, comfortable, and loving. He felt like ours...our dad, our grandpa. We were so fortunate to spend our Christmas with him and the Galaviz family 2 years ago and it has been the most special and memorable time we have ever had. 
We would like to express how deeply sorry we are for the loss of your beloved dad, brother, uncle, grandpa. We are still in disbelief this happened...we didn’t think that December 2018 would be the last time we would see Tata. We wanted to go back to Disney with him, pick him up at the Lubbock airport and drive him to Petersburg, share a small army post home with Pete’s family and ours for the weekend, and see him again playing with Gunny and Livi. His legacy will live on Forever! We Love YOU TATA and the Galaviz family.

I will always remember my dear and beloved big brother Alejandro (“Alex”), and I have nothing but the best of memories of this remarkable man. I remember how my mother and father doted on him because he was such a good son, brother, devoted husband and father - so respectful and kind. I remember his devoting time to play with me. He loved to play jacks with me and marbles with our little brother Jorge when we were very young children and he was a teenager, at an age when most older siblings cannot be bothered with their little brothers and sisters. He would wash the cement patio in front of our house, take me up in his arms, crank up the Oldies and dance with me. His wife, Sofie, and I would argue over the next dance. He was a great dancer!
As the years passed, and he visited the family, he would make tacos for us and Sofie would make salsa and on occasion Alex would sing from my mother’s hymnals. His favorite was a classic in Spanish – “…trigo soy, trigo soy, del granero, del granero del Seῆor, del Seῆor….”
One Christmas when we were still children, Jorge and I didn’t have enough money to buy our parents gifts, so Alex took us shopping and had the presents wrapped and paid for. It was our secret... 
Alex was funny, smart, kind, loud and fiercely loyal to his friends and family. A true family man, he was hard-working and always available to lend a helping hand. He had an amazing work ethic and emboldened his children to have the same. He opened his heart and home to all he came in contact with and was loved by many.  We will always remember his big radiant smile, his laugh, those beautiful lion eyes and big personality. His physical presence in our lives will be greatly missed, but I know in my heart he is with our Lord!
When you think of Alejandro, please celebrate and be thankful for the good memories you have. May God open the gates of Heaven and grant him peace and joy for all eternity.

Where to begin to say what a devastating loss our family has had with the loss of this wonderful Man I was lucky enough to call my brother-in-law. He was the hardest working Man I've ever known, he was a good Husband to my Sister, a great Father, Grandfather and Tio. everyone loved him and everyone who came in contact with him he left an impression on. I'm going to miss all the good times we shared all the laughs and the jokes we had. he had nicknames for everyone you couldn't get away with not getting one. no one could make me crack up like him. I'm going to miss all of his wonderful cooking, I guess that's why he called me Maranita because no matter what he made I gobbled it up. Although I'm going to miss him tremendously I am at peace knowing that he is up in Heaven with my Sister his beloved Wife,  Grandson Tony, My Mom, Brothers and Sisters. May you Rest in Heavenly Peace Viejo.

So many great memories with this incredible human being.
I have no idea where to start other than I am who I am because of a lot of things he taught me.
How to be great father to my kids, how to be a great husband to my wife and best of all how to be a great man.
Even though he probably didnt know it he left an amazing legacy behind that will not be forgotten he touched a ton of people and for that he will never really be gone as he is in our hearts and minds ,
which means never forgotten.
Im glad I was blessed enough to meet you and to become part of your family TATA I love you more than you ever knew and I know you did as well.
Till we meet again Old Man and may you Rest In Peace !!!!!

My heart is filled with sadness to know a passing of a great man. My family is blessed to know the Galaviz Family over 28 plus years.  Alex Sr. and Sofia  have created such a strong family! Probably one of the strongest families I know. Im truly privileged to say I have grown up with the Galaviz Family!  Our two families the Galaviz and Quinones Family have shared so many special times of happiness and sadness over all these years. Alex Sr. always had a smile on his face, was caring, compassionate and always there for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren!  I know Alex Sr. meant so much to so many. I know his family will forever continue his legacy! The Quinones Family

We were truly blessed to have known such a great man!! More blessed to know his family! I will cherish his talks and advice! Truly a wonderful beautiful human being!
