Bettie Boglio passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 3, 2018. She had been battling many health issues for years. Bettie is survived by her husband, Art Boglio. Art & Bettie turned 85 in 2018 and they were married for 65 years on June 20, 2018. She is also survived by her son Gerrit Boglio, daughter Crystal (William) Francisco, and son Damon Boglio. Granddaughter Carrie (Brent) Gerdes, great grand-children Jackson, Mikayla and Annabel. Grandson Jason Boglio. Grandson Michael (Bethany) Boglio. She also leaves a foster daughter LuAnn Johnson who has been family since she lived with them in 1972. And Flora Chavarria an AFS foreign exchange daughter who has been family since she lived with them in 1975.
Bettie was “Mom” to anyone who walked through her door. Bettie was faithful to her church counting the offering every Monday morning for years. She was also Band Mother President who took care of all of the candy bars for fundraisers and making the uniforms for ALL band members through all of her children’s grade school band years. She also found time to paint ceramics. Bettie kept a handwritten calendar that showed ALL the major events in the family’s lives for years! She also kept a Christmas card list that included girlfriends from grade school, participants in their wedding and many of Art’s students from math classes at Alhambra. Services for Bettie will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Glendale located at 7102 N. 58th Dr., Glendale, AZ 85301 (59th Avenue and Glenn) followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Funeral arrangements handled by Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary.
