Charles R. Vasquez

Charles R. Vasquez, born on December 11, 1942, in Superior, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2025, at the age of 82. Charles was a hard-working, compassionate, beloved, faithful, and inspirational man who touched the lives of many.

He was married to Marie (Lucy) for 56 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, Julia M. Vasquez Garcia (Donald P. Garcia) and Carlos A. Vasquez. Charles was a proud grandfather to Zachary I. Bynes and Gabreya G. Garcia, and a great-grandfather to Zachary A. Bynes and Zariyah A. Bynes. His strong family values and good family structure were a testament to his character, and he set the bar high for those who knew him.

Charles had a passion for spending time with family and friends, fishing, and enjoying music. He was known as a sharp dresser and loved dancing with Marie (Lucy). He also enjoyed having a beer once in a while. His never-give-up attitude and service to his country were inspirational to all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. This is not a goodbye but a see you later.

Visitation will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, on March 6, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will take place at Resthaven Park Cemetery, also at 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow the funeral services at West Resthaven Funeral Home.

Charles's legacy of strong family values, lifelong friendships, and his role as a great athlete will continue to inspire those who knew him.
