

Clifford Iwao Oyama, 82 years, of Glendale, AZ, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He was born on October 24, 1939 to the late Takeshi and Iwako (Kusumoto) Oyama in Maui, Hawaii. He attended Humboldt College receiving a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology. Cliff worked for the Bureau of Land Management and the Bureau of Reclamation before retiring. On November 26, 1988, he married Kathleen Karen Lorang in Yuma, Arizona.
Cliff served in the Air Force for over 4 years (4 years and 91 days to be exact )
He was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.
Cliff loved to be outdoors. To be in the isolation of the desert is where he felt closest to God. He loved to hunt and fish. He went for daily walks with his dog, Pepper. He was frequently found providing snacks (probably too many) to Pepper and Chica.
Cliff is survived by his stepchildren Deborah Smith (Robert), Michael Lorang and Stephanie (Saul) Alvarez. Also of the home missing him will be Pepper and Chica.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, Arizona 85024. A reception will follow at his home 23010 N 65th Ln, Glendale, AZ 85310.
