Cory David Light

Cory David Light passed away on December 2, 2021 at Duke Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He was born on June 27, 1990 in Phoenix, Arizona to David Light and Donna Birk. Cory received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Business Leadership with a certificate in Applied Business Data Analytics from ASU W.P. Carey School of Business. He married Melissa Monroe on May 20, 2017. Cory worked as a project manager for Prosper Marketplace. He is survived by his wife, Melissa, father David, mother Donna, brother Lawrence McClure, sister Holly Colborn, niece Chloe Colborn, numerous relatives and countless friends. His brother, Joel McClure, preceded Cory in death.

Cory loved to tell dad jokes; he was always smiling, laughing, and seizing every moment. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his energy, and his ability to light up every room. Cory was a great husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, boss, and employee. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Family and friends are invited to funeral services honoring him on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona. Cory will be laid to rest next to his brother, Joel, in Resthaven Park Cemetery.

There will be a Celebration of Life to follow at 7:00 PM at Finish Line, 1724 W Bell Rd, Phoenix, Arizona. T-shirts, flip-flops, and Hurley hats are encouraged.
