Courtney Rae Lair

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Courtney Rae Lair, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, and treasured friend. Courtney passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at the age of 41. Her radiant spirit, kind heart, and fierce love for her family will forever be remembered and deeply missed.

Born on January 16, 1984, Courtney brought light and warmth into the world from the moment she arrived. On March 11, 2007, she married her best friend and the love of her life, Cole Lair. Together, they built a beautiful life and brought 3 incredible children into the world. Cole and Courtney shared 18 years of marriage and created wonderful memories together as a family.

Courtney was a woman of quiet but extraordinary resilience. She overcame challenges with grace, met hardship with hope, and never lost sight of the goodness of God. Through every storm, she held tightly to her faith — trusting, believing, and reflecting His love in all she did. Her relationship with Jesus was the steady foundation of her life and the source of her peace and strength.

She is survived by her grandparents, Patricia and James Wittman, Alice Wurtsmith, and Cole's grandfather Gary Williams. Her mother Heidi and Harry Kalous; her father Dwayne Maxwell and Cindy Dunneisen, Cole's parents Greg Lair and Robin Graham. She is also survived by her husband, Cole Lair and their children: Bailey, Logan, and Emmiline. Courtney leaves behind her siblings: Ryan and Krissie Maxwell, Taylor Maxwell, Amy and Ryan Norris, Jeremy and Maria Kalous, Dan Kalous and Cole's brother Taylor Lair along with eight nieces and five nephews.

She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Courtney had the rare ability to make people feel deeply loved and genuinely known. Whether through her quiet presence, thoughtful words, or comforting smile, she brought peace and warmth into the lives of others. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue through those she leaves behind.
