Crusita Sanchez

She was born on May 3, 1924, in Laveen, AZ, to the late Juan and Flora Martinez.

In the early 1940’s she married our father, Demetrio and together they raised 7 children in Cashion, AZ. Our Mother was a very caring, nurturing, and vibrant soul. A loving Mom, godmother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Many viewed her as their own mom, grandmother and family member and she welcomed that role with such joy while reciprocating it with the same love and kindness she gave to her own. Mom could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere and made friends easily. Mom enjoyed music, planting flowers outdoors, traveling, attending her local church and most of all, loved her family, pets and birds. She will be greatly missed by many, and the uniqueness of her memory cherished forever. We are all very blessed to have her among us for so many memorable years.

She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Valenzuela and Connie Suchil and her children Joe Sanchez (Yolanda), Delia Podczerviensky (Tim), Rachel Torrez (Dennis), Elizabeth Montelongo and Patricia Sanchez-Hyde (Carlos), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Demetrio M Sanchez and two sons, Ray Sanchez (Blanca) and Henry Sanchez (Josie).

A viewing visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 12:00 PM followed by a service at 1:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home at 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301. The burial will take place at 2:00 PM close by at Resthaven Park Cemetery. The family kindly requests that everyone please wear a mask and maintain social distancing to the best of their ability.
