

Cynthia Lynn Chavez, affectionately known as Cyn to her family, passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 60. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 25, 1965, Cynthia was the cherished daughter of Alex and Jennie Chavez and grew up with her two brothers, Alex and Chris.
Cynthia's greatest joy was her children: Sonia, Thomas, Luis, and Cyrina. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she expressed her deep, unwavering love for them in unique ways. Her family was the center of her world, and she was devoted to nurturing and caring for them throughout her life.
After graduating from Maryvale High School, Cynthia worked with both the State of Arizona and the Phoenix Police Department. She had an appreciation for old-school nightlife and enjoyed dressing up and dancing the night away. Cynthia's curious spirit was reflected in her passion for collecting a variety of items, from vintage treasures and meaningful keepsakes to stories from true crime shows she loved to watch. Music was a constant companion in her life, and she often found solace in journaling during quiet moments. She especially enjoyed collecting rocks, stamps, coins, and indulging in soda with EXTRA ice.
Cynthia will be remembered for her gentle presence, her distinctive interests, and the care she showed to her family. Her memory endures in the hearts of those who loved her most. Cynthia was a devoted daughter, sister, and mother, and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her, including her beloved cats and Chris and Barb’s Leo pup.
A visitation will be held on February 20, 2026, at 12:00 pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ, 85301.
The funeral service will follow on the same day at 1:00 pm at the same location. With the graveside service to take place at 2:00 pm.
