I have wonderful memories of Uncle Don, including cold pizza and cold spaghetti for breakfast! I think he was also the one who got all of the cousins into a silence contest. Then he, Aunt Wilda and my parents,  Hank and Wanda, were off for the evening. 

Too few and too brief visits between the families over the years.

Donnie was a great,friend and brother. I remember the great times we had growing up,he was always up to forming some form of club,having good times and I shall remember him for the rest of my days and miss him.   Brother Claude

Donnie Cash and I were together growing up.  We played and worked together and went to the same schoools.  His Dad and my Dad were brothers, and we lived on the same street.  

Donnie was a good guy, sweet--one of the finest. He liked everybody, and eveybody liked him.  He could talk with anybody, anytime and any place. 

We had tough times financially growing up but that was just part of life.  He was positive and happy and everybody gained from his presence. 

He was a persuader--one of the best.  We were working in the field with our Dads--cuttin' up. Donnie got into trouble with his Dad--(Uncle Lee was a strong man, adhering to principles, disciplined and fair.  He wanted the best and cut little slack).  That day, Donnie persuaded me to run off--ride to Decatur, Illinois to be with our other first cousin, Wilbert.  We had my bike and both of us rode it about 90 miles before we were persuaded by a sailor(at a bus station early in the morning) to turn around and come home.  The sailor bought us food. 

Going up and coming back, Donnie and I both pumped the bicycle (our feet on the same peddles) with one of us on the seat and the other straddling the cross bar.  Sometimes I pumped by myself and Donnie sat on the cross bar. His rear end was black and blue from that. We were on the radio news.  Our parents were relieved to have us back.  Donnie was about age 11, and I was about age 14. 

I worked with Donnie in the fields, a clothing store, and restaurant.  He was a good worker, efficient, and loyal. 

He was smart and had common sense--easy to be and talk with.  He had a tremendous memory--recalling to me our childhood with every detail.  A story teller--I loved listening to him.

He was generous and unselfish.  He was the guy that would give you the shirt off his back.  He was decent with good principles, and honest.  Like his obituary said,  "Heaven has gained.."

I loved Donnie and am blessed to have had him in my life. He was one of my best friends. I shall be with him agian some day.

MY dear brother,I had the best brothers anyone could have even tho we were afar we were always together.we shared so many calls together back and forth. I will always love you and keep you in my heart. we never forgot our humble beginnings did we?even tho some were not so good it made us stronger.  I loved hearing you say "LOVE YOU SIS AN DRIVE VERY VERY CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!MY HEART IS LONELY BUT I WILL BE STRONG,BECAUSE HE WAS.HE IS HAPPY NOW IN HEAVEN.

I am so grateful to have known you Don. In that short time, you made an imprint in my heart. Amazing, loving, caring person who always made my day! I miss you and Jean coming to AJs to see me. I will forever remember you. Heart felt thoughts and prayers go out to Jean and to Don's wonderful family. Don always bragged about each one of you. He loved you all very much. I am so sorry for your loss. God be with you.

Thank you for being my father and teaching me on how to be a man.  You were there through all my bad times with no questions asked only lending your support and love.  We have shared  so many memories that I will never be able to forget. Your name will never be forgotten and how I wish I could carry the Cash name because I am a Cash.  Your marine plaque will continue to go to the boy in each generation along with the story of who Don Cash was. Love you Pappa.

Dear Don, I feel blessed to be part of your family. You were a wonderful father-in-law. I know that your family was everything to you. You're in our hearts forever! Love you!
