Donald Lewis Mauller, 75, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2025. Born in Richmond, Indiana on January 21, 1950, Don was the son of Grace Anderson and Archibald Mauller. He grew up alongside his three brothers, Gerald, Howard (Bud), and Dale.
After moving to Arizona, he met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Jean (Jaszczyk) Mauller. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their son, Tony, and daughter, Melanie. Don was a beloved grandfather, and he cherished the time spent with his granddaughters, Olivia and Nora, who were the light of his life. After a long and dedicated career, he retired from the Arizona Department of Transportation.
A man of many talents, Don was known for his love of working with his hands. He enjoyed woodturning, and fixing and building just about anything. He was also an avid sports fan, especially college football and women’s athletics. He loved road trips to visit family in Indiana and especially enjoyed camping with family and friends, with Bray Creek holding a special place in his heart. Dogs were a constant joy in Don’s life — he adored each of his own as well as the ones his wife brought home, and they adored him right back. His playful side always shone through with them, making their bond an important and cherished part of his life.
Don found great peace in his faith and was baptized at Peoria Church of the Nazarene on August 25, 2024.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at Peoria Church of the Nazarene, located at 7717 W. Thunderbird Rd, Peoria, Arizona 85381 on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10 a.m., with a reception and light snacks to follow. Flowers are welcome.
