Edward Rudolph Hoffarth, 75, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 16, 2012 due to a hard fought battle with cancer. Ed was a Phoenix police officer for 24 years and retired in 1983 as a Lieutenant. Ed enjoyed his retirement by working with two of his sons in a family construction company and volunteering at the local catholic church where he attended. Ed is preceded in death by his daughter Diane Hoffarth and is survived by his wife Marilyn Hoffarth and six children, Michael (Yolanda) Hoffarth, Patrick (Nicole) Hoffarth, Nancy Whipley, Matthew (Kara) Hoffarth, Elaine (Don) Krug, and Christopher (Jackie) Hoffarth. Ed had 14 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary on January 20, 2012 from 4-7pm located at 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale and a catholic mass at 10am at St. Louis the King Church on January 21, 2012 located at 4331 W.
