I continue to remember my beloved Uncle Mico. He had a deep impact in my life and our various families lives. His little laminated picture I received from his Memorial continues to surface at various times when I need his encouragement. He planted lots of words of wisdom in my life that I continue to use to this very day! So grateful that I was blessed to have him in my life! We miss you and will see you again later in heaven, Tio.

My Uncle Mico was a man that I deeply admired, especially so when I was a young boy.  He was my mother's little brother and from my eyes one of my fathers figures growing up.  He was one of the Huerta Brothers, which meant he was a man you could count on whenever you needed a helping hand.  It also meant he loved to laugh, share a few beers and enjoy our families great food that was always plentiful.  

La familia was everything to this man.   From him and his brothers I learned that in the very best way possible, by growing up in Nana Huerta's large extended family.  We were all part of one great big family, as it should be.  

I remember the quiet gentle nature of my Tio Mico, and how it shined through his eyes whenever he held one of his children in his arms.  You could see the pride and love he had for his children and grandchildren.  His happiness was in his family and you could see it easily with him.

I have to say his smile will be what I will miss the most, he had a way of smiling at you and letting you know he was glad to see you and welcome in his home.   He was a kind and genuine man, the type of man that is very rare to find these days.  The world is a lesser place without him, but he leaves behind a bundle of joyous memories in those lives he touched throughout his life. 

Uncle Mico, please give my aunt Roy a big hug from me.  May God Bless you, keep you and fill you with his Devine countenance.

My condolences to all of you for the loss of your Father. My Tio Mico was good person and may he walk in God’s eternal light. Last time I saw him he said his hip was hurting him so much and now he is not feeling that pain. He is now with my Tia Roy. He was a devoted husband, a good man and fantastic father to his kids, grand kid’s and great grandchild. He was such a hard worker and still found time for his family, his church and the community. I met you in 1983 when your daughter Becky and I first became friends. I loved being in your home so much! You and Roy made me feel at home the minute I met you! It was always a good fun crazy time in your house! Filled with loud voices, laughter, and great food! You instantly took a liking to me and always teased me for liking the hot stuff (as in salsa)  I will miss laughing with you and I will miss your Menudo on New Years Day! You told me because I was an honorary Mexican thats why I loved it so much! I wish we could of done our casino date but I will be thinking of you when I do go!
I love you and will miss you so much. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your amazing family!! Give Roy a big hug from me! I miss her very much and I’m so glad you are reunited. Love Doreen 

THANK YOU DAD !  You were an awesome Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and friend to so many.  My heart is always with you and mom.  I know that God gives us ONLY what we can handle.  You  fought the good fight with all the medical issues that started after mom passed in 2008.  You waited patiently for 13 years to be with mom in HEAVEN !  Thank You for being so kind to all.  You were patient and generous to so many.  You treated everyone with respect. You had a great sense of humor!  I will miss our laughs and many talks that kept us motivated throughout our lives.  I know that when you arrived to the pearly gates of HEAVEN, You were rewarded with "JOB WELL DONE, SERVANT OF GOD!"  I am thankful for the many years we had and MOST IMPORTANT,  ABOVE ALL, knowing that you accepted God in your heart and acknowledged Jesus as your savior that died on the cross for you, gives me PEACE and COMFORT.   I LOVE YOU DAD!  WE WILL MEET AGAIN IN HEAVEN, your daughter, Rebecca.






There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through..seeing my Cousin , my Niño, and Compadre Mico going to another journey holding hands with my beloved Cousin Roy. 
I always remember them coming to San Diego on Vacation and when it was time to go back home Roy would beg my mom to let me go back home with them and there were times she did. I loved staying there with them. 
There’s not a lot of couples like Mico and Roy. They were a very Special Couple. A couple that never Complained. A couple that helped their Community. A couple that helped their Family. A couple that helped their neighbors and a couple that helped their Friends. 
Mico was one of the hardest Working men that I have ever known! He was a good listener and gave you good advice when you asked for his opinion. 
He was a Marvelous Father, A great friend, and a Wonderful husband…an angel of God. That’s what I would hear From my Tia Paulina telling my mom in different occasions that he was a angel of God. When I told my Dad that cousin Mico had passed, my Dad also said he was a angel of God and that he has never met a nicer person than him. 
I will forever be grateful for Everything they did for me. Cousin Mico is going to the light. My Cousin Roy came back and is waiting for you to walk with you through the light. I can just see you guys holding hands and both saying Honey I miss you.
