

Eugene Geddes Cantua, a cherished and resilient soul, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on January 16, 1945, Eugene was a native Phoenician, one of eleven children born to Jose and Anzonella Cantua.
Eugene's early life was deeply rooted in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was raised alongside his siblings. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the Army. After his military service, Eugene dedicated many years to working at Safeway, where he was known for his roles as a cashier and in the produce department.
On January 16, 1996, Eugene married Patricia Williams. He is survived by Patricia, his daughter Eugenia Bogart, and Patricia's children Corrina Macias, Genaro Macias, and Albert Macias. Eugene's legacy extends to his sister Joanne, brother Charles, grandchildren Annabel, Sydney, Mason, Dylan, Jessica, Lonte, Monique, Tyler, Miranda, Desiree, and great-grandchildren Jaibiyn, Angelica, Destiny, Serenity, Neaveh, Jameson, Annalise, Saniya, Isiah, Lorelei & Marcellus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia's son Alexandro, and eight siblings: Adolph, Henrietta, Diane, Olga, Joe, Ernestine, Delbert, and Tina.
A handyman at heart, Eugene loved family gatherings and cherished walking with his grandkids, even if it meant enduring pain. He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 28, from 12 PM to 1 PM at West Resthaven, followed by a service at 1 PM. Eugene will be laid to rest with military honors at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
Eugene's life was a testament to resilience and love for family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
