

She was born in Marion, Massachusetts on November 26, 1927 to Henry (deceased) and Mary (deceased) Fernandes. Flora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She graduated from Wareham High School. She married her beloved husband, Nicholas R. Pina and shared 67 wonderful years with him. While married she graduated from Morten Hospital School of Nursing and worked at St. Lukes Hospital as supervisor of Respiratory Care in New Bedford, Massachusetts until her retirement. Her one passion was hosting the annual family picnic. She and Nicholas were avid golfers and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1985 to continue the pursuit of their love for golf. She maintained her Cape Verdean culture through her cooking, music and language. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
She is survived by her husband Nicholas, children Nicholas (Nicky) Pina Jr., Elizabeth (Becky) Wildgen,Gail Pina, Richard (Ricky)Pina grandchildren, Lance S. Burgo and wife Kristie, Kathryn (Katie)Pina, and Lonnie T. Burgo, two great-grandchildren Donovan and Taeya Burgo. She raised nieces Brenda, Nada and Rose Pina. She was preceded in death by brothers John Teixeira, Henry (Hank)Fernandes Jr., sister in law Dorothy(Nuke) Fernandes and brother-in-law Harry Concholar. Surviving siblings Manuel (Manny)Fernandes and wife Joy, Elizabeth(Betty)Walker, Nancy concholar, Jean Barbour and husband Charles, Julie Ann Gomes and husband Antone, Steven Fernandes and wife Mary, sister in law Marion (Maize) Teixeira and many nieces and nephews.
