his willingness to help others, and the deep love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
As a young man, Floyd answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the distinguished honor of serving as a Presidential Guard to President Nixon. That sense of duty and discipline stayed with him throughout his entire life, shaping the man so many came to admire.
On June 14, 1998 Floyd married the love of his life, Karen, and together they shared 27 wonderful years. He was a man with a heart as big as they come, kind, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
It was no exaggeration to say he was loved by everyone who knew him.
Floyd found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed camping and was an avid hunter and fisherman who treasured time spent outdoors, pursuing deer and squirrels. A talented woodworker, he created beauty with his hands. Above all, he cherished his family and loved the holidays, especially Christmas, when he could decorate and gather his loved ones close.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, John Taylor-Arthur Clark and Katherine Mary Bennett, and his brother, Joseph Leroy Clark. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Clark, and his sister Ruthie Clark, two daughters Jennifer Hoen and Kimberly Nicholes, five grand-children and three great grand-children. Also, two step children Sheila Summerhill and Jason Begnouche, including seven grand-children and two great grand-children.
Floyd now rests in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. As his family holds him close in memory, these words offer comfort: A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, the golden sun may set, but the hearts that loved you dearly are the ones that won’t forget.
Forever in our hearts ♥
