Grace Ellen Rieckhoff

Grace Ellen Rieckhoff, 91 passed away on February 8, 2017. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 26, 1925 to George G. Atherton and Ellen Heniff Atherton. Her first job was “at the dime store on Western Avenue”. After that she went to work in the offices of The American Can Company. In November of 1949 she married Louis Edward Rieckhoff and they moved to Arizona shortly after their marriage. They were married for 61 years until his passing in 2010. Grace was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her four children, Lynn Lindell (James), Kathy Allen (Richard), Nancy Rieckhoff (Mark) and Thomas Rieckhoff (Pamela). She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren who will miss her very much. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm and Rosary at 6:00pm located at Chapel of the Chimes mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona. Funeral mass will be Monday, February 13, 2017 at 10:00am located at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 5510 West Cholla Street, Glendale, Arizona followed by a Committal service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 West Thomas Rd, Avondale, Arizona.
