

He was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Otto Adolf and Florence Gertrud Grafner on February 10, 1933.
He is preceded in death by his wife Beth Elaine Grafner, whom he married on August 24, 1952 in Ohio. His son Kevin Karl Grafner, daughter Kim Marie Grafner and beloved canine companion, Carly.
Herrmann is survived by daughter Rogena Kristin Valentine and son John Kurt Grafner, as well as 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was a veteran of both the Navy and Air Force. While serving tours in Korea and Vietnam he was awarded multiple merits including The Bronze Star in 1970. He graduated from San Bernardino College. He worked as a Chief of Plant Operations III for Camarillo State Hospital for 23 years.
Graveside service will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1:30pm located at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix AZ 85024
Friends and family may join the Arizona Patriot Guard Riders at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary at 11:30am to escort Herrmann to the Cemetery.
Or Friends and family can join at the Visitor's Center at the National Memorial Cemetery at 12:50pm for instructions prior to joining the Circle of Honor.
