James A. Martinez Sr.

James (Jimmy) Martinez, Sr., 68 of Goodyear passed away on March 19, 2018. James was born in Gallup, New Mexico on December 3, 1949. James attended Gallup High School and worked for the City of Gallup until his retirement in 1995. James moved to Arizona to be closer to his family in 2003.

James is survived by daughter Vanessa Swartz of Surprise, son James Martinez, Jr., of Goodyear, and embraced son Lindsey “Lee” Masingale of Gallup, NM. Grandsons Ethan Swartz of Surprise, Grady Swartz of Surprise and William Martinez of Goodyear. Siblings Tommy Gonzales, Sr., Paul Juarez, Augie Juarez, Junior Juarez, Mary Lopez and Linda Caro. A numerous amount of friends and family members.

James is proceeded in death by sister Helen Juarez, Grandmother Carmen Velasquez and Mother Mary Juarez.

James enjoyed spending time with his Grandsons, fixing things, conversation, laughing and teaching others the art of repair. He will be remembered for his cowboy fashion style, generosity, compassion, artistic ability and loving spirit.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2:00PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home 6450 W. Northern Avenue in Glendale, AZ.
