

He was born in Bethany, Illinois on June 6, 1934. James graduated from Pekin High School.
James worked a career for 21 years in the Air Force, serving in the Korean War when he was 18 for 3 years and Vietnam from 1969-1971. After retiring, he worked for Honeywell for 15 years in Phoenix.
He was a very kind humanitarian, liked to help people, and had a passion for electronics, computers, and operating systems.
He was preceded in his death by his wife of 65 years, Shizue Phillips and his son James who passed away in Phoenix. James was also preceded in by his father Paul Dole Phillips, his mother Fannie Phillips, and his brother in laws Lau Ray Craemer, James Dinelli, and Joseph Anchond.
James was survived by his siblings, Naydene Pierce, Gay Craemer, Paul Phillips, Beverly Dinelli, Sandy Barnett; nieces and nephews Debbie, Connie, Robert, John, Chris, Tracy, Mike, Teresa, Emily, and Andrew.
A memorial will be planned in his honor in Spring Valley Illinois to follow.
