Janet Lee Kistler

70, of Litchfield Park, AZ passed away on September 8, 2013. Janet’s legacy is not large in terms of material things, but is immeasurable in the example of her life long dedication and devotion to her faith, her immense loyalty to family and a true hope for the future. As Co-Founder of the Phoenix Natural Family Planning Center, Janet was able to live daily her passion for her ministry and in turn help lay the foundation that the Catholic Church of Phoenix is still building on today. She continued this passion when her and Ron moved to Fredericksburg, VA where she was an integral part of the USCCB and the NFP Program there. Janet will be remembered for so many things, too many to list here, but most importantly for the lives she touched, her dedication to her faith and always being “other-centered”. She was a light in the darkness for many and always selfless in pursuing peace for those she came in contact with. Janet is survived by her beloved husband and best friend Ron; her 3 children, Heather Smith (Gary), Luke (Carrie), and Matthew; 6 Grandchildren, Chelsey (21), Jake (18), Alexis (13), Calista (12), Kase (11), Addison (6); 1 Great Grandson Liam (4 months). A funeral mass will be held on Friday September 20, 2013 at 10am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 3450 W Desert Cove Ave, Phoenix AZ 85029. Private burial at the National Memorial Cemetery will follow.
