I worked with Jesse at Chaparral High School. Jesse was the night custodian supervisor.  I was the athletic equipment manager and worked afternoons and nights.  I was there 15 years and during that time Jesse and I became good friends. We always teased each other and shared snacks from the office.  Jesse never would tell me how old he was and now I know...he was one year younger than I am. I will sure miss him and all the good times we had.

I am shocked and saddened by this sudden news. Jesse was always kind and, as one of the theatre teachers at Chaparral who sometimes needed to work late into the evening, I always felt safe knowing that Jesse was nearby. We would occasionally joke about the”ghosts” in the auditorium and make up stories about the cats that were let out at night to make sure there were no mice on our campus. Such a gentleman; each night saying a pleasant  “hello, Sandy!” Jesse will be missed by the staff as well as our students who were lucky to meet him.

So sorry for your loss.  I am a Science teacher as well as the Track and Cross Country coach at Chaparral High School.  I will always remember seeing Jesse after Track Practice almost everyday.  I will always remember him driving by in his golf cart as I was would walk to my car and him asking me if I needed a ride.  Sometimes when the track team would get back late at night he would go out of his way to meet me at the bus and help put the gear away.  Lastly, I will always remember his easy smile and his great sense of humor.

I had the pleasure of seeing Jesse around Chaparral High School for the past sixteen years.  Jesse was always so kind, helpful, and wonderful to talk to.  He had such a graceful way about him.  As a teacher of performing arts, I was around after school, late in the evenings, and on the weekends.  I was able to see him most days at this time and be able to have a friendly chat.  It was always nice to s visit, and while chatting together his genuine grin always showed me he really cared.  I am sincerely going to miss him.
