

Jose Lorenzo Breceda Diaz, 65, of Glendale, Arizona entered into heaven on August 31, 2020 one day before his 66th birthday of September 1, 1954. He was born in Durango, Mexico to Jose and Alicia (Diaz) Breceda, the oldest of 12 children; three girls and nine boys.
Jose spent his younger years in Juarez, Mexico with his mother, father and brother and sisters. They all worked together to support the family as the children attended school. It was at a young age that Jose learned his trade watching family and friends working in construction.
Following his love of construction he relocated to El Paso, Texas for work. He had to move between around to keep up with the industry. Then he met Olga Sanchez, the love of his life. They were married in 1977, and they began a family. Together they raised three beautiful children. In 1994 Jose moved his family to Phoenix to follow his dreams and for a better life.
They bought a house and his dreams began. He loved family gatherings. He was the cook in the family. He loved to make Chile Colorado and rice; Pico de Gallo, and home made tamales for his children on special occasions, and his favorite meal was ground meat taco’s which people called “Jose’s tacos’ because they were so good. Jose loved gardening. He grew many orange and lemon trees, which he used to prepare his favorite meals at home. Jose loved to try out new restaurants and all kinds of food. His favorite restaurant of all time was “The Wondering Horse Talking Stick” because they had so many choice. Jose was also a desert lover, and he would always order cheese cake after every meal.
He also loved to sing. Not just at home, but where ever he went. He was not shy and never minded taking the main stag to sign for friends, family or even in the middle of a restaurant. He had a beautiful tone to his voice and he could project without a microphone. He loved mariachi music, old country barn music and 2-step dancing.
Jose collected coins, loved his cowboy hats and boots. He spent most of his time playing pool, which is was very good at. He joined torments and mostly won, and had many trophies to show for it.
Traveling with his family was also a big part of his life. They would all get in the car and go on trips. They would stop at every casino just to play the slots and eat. They went to Ruidoso, Mexico many times as it has the Biggest Casino called “Inn of the Mountain Gods” and he loved to take his family there.
Jose leaves behind his wife of 43 years Olga (Sanchez) Breceda; children, Joe Breceda Jr, Loenel Breceda, and Ruby Breceda; grandchildren Nathan, Michael, Brandon, Lorenzo, Eliazar; brothers and sisters, Amparo, Sandra, Alberto, Dahul, Gustavo, Gerardo, Kike, Aurora and Juan; many many cousing, aunts, uncles and special family and friends who came to visit him from all over the country when they knew he was ill.
Jose is preceded in heaven by his parents Jose and Alicia and his brothers Guero and Martin.
The family sends a special thanks to Jose’s brothers (cousins) Carlos and Pedro for their help with the services. Sincere gratitude for all of those who have donated for Jose’s service.
Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary on Thursday September 10 at 8am.
