

Joyce Mae White, a beloved, devoted, and resilient wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 88. She was known for her uplifting spirit and dedication to her family and community.
Born as Joyce Mae Strohauer on July 26, 1936, in Lackawanna, New York, she was the oldest of seven children. Joyce's early life was marked by her strong family bonds and her commitment to her loved ones.
Joyce dedicated over 30 years of her career to Prestige Cleaners, where she was admired for her hard work and resilience. Her professional life was complemented by a deep dedication to her family.
On March 6, 1952, Joyce married Thomas J. White. Together, they shared over 65 years of marriage and raised four sons: Dewey W. White, James L. White, Thomas H. White, and William R. White. Her husband, Tom, passed on July 15, 2017.
Joyce is survived by her three sons, Jim, Tom, and Bill, as well as three grandchildren, Tabbatha Gonzales, James Rains, and Stephanie Rains, and four great-grandchildren, Henry Gonzales Jr., Alyssa Gonzales, Nevaeh Gonzales, and Beau Rains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, her son Dewey, her grandson Christopher White, and her six siblings.
Joyce and Tom shared a love for adventure; they hiked the Grand Canyon in their 50s and enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the United States. Family was of utmost importance to Joyce, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A Service of Remembrance and Reception will be held on March 11, 2025, beginning at 1:30 pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona, 85301.
Joyce Mae White's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
