

Juan "Tavo" Gustavo Rivas, a beloved, humorous, and hard-working individual, passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 35. Born on January 6, 1989, in Michoacan, Mexico, Tavo was the cherished son of Gustavo Rivas and Olga Vargas.
He attended Maryvale High School and Bostrom High School, where he formed lasting friendships and began to shape the path of his future. Tavo was known for his dedication and work ethic, having worked for Coy Landscaping for over 14 years before joining his family at Rivas & Sons Landscaping, where he continued to work until he became ill.
Tavo shared his life with Flor "Jeannette" Aburto for over 17 years. They were married on November 9, 2013, and together they were raising three beautiful children: Naomi, aged 10, Mateo, who is almost 4, and Olivia, aged 2.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeannette, his children Naomi, Mateo, and Olivia, his father Gustavo Rivas, his mother Olga Vargas, his grandfather Socorro "Papi Corro" Vargas, and his grandmother Fidelina "Nana Fide" Vargas. Tavo will also be fondly remembered by his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
A viewing will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 West Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will held on Friday, December 27, 2024, starting at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Tavo will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
Tavo's warmth, humor, and dedication to his family and work will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
