

Karl William Harshberger, 60 of Payson, AZ, died January 21st , 2015. He was born June 14th, 1954 in Dodge City Kansas, the son of Margaret Harshberger of Minneola, Kansas. He attended and graduated from Minneola High school in 1972 where he was a member of the Football Team. He went on and served 4 yrs Active duty and 2 yrs reserve in the United States Navy on the USS Nicholson where he worked as a mechanic. He continued his skills as an industrial mechanic and also helped his then wife and mother of his children, Shirley Harshberger to care for the elderly.
Karl is survived by his two sons Jason and Michael and their wives Heather and Jennifer; his five grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie, Michael, Gabriel and Faith; his mother Margaret Douglas of Minneola, Kansas; his siblings Karen Ryan, Kay Chapin, Kenneth Harshberger, Kevin Harshberger, and preceded in death by his oldest sibling Kathy Dragoo.
The most important thing in his life was his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He would hope that everyone could have a relationship with Jesus as he did. His second love was his family. He attended Holy Spirit Fire Church in Payson, AZ. He enjoyed spending his time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish. He loved John Deer. He loved to hunt. He loved football, especially his Kansas City Chiefs. And he was a proud Republican and was honored to serve his country in the Navy.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, AZ. 85301. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 26th. Viewing starts at 11am followed by the service at 1pm.
