Lily Ann Roseberry was born on February 13, 1948 in Manchester, New Hampshire into a U.S. Air Force family. While her father was in the Korean War, she and her mother lived in Imperial Beach, CA. After the war her father was stationed at Luke A.F.B. and the family came to Glendale and stayed after her father’s retirement.
Lily attended and graduated from “Unit 4” (Melvin Sine) school in 1961 and Glendale High School in 1966. She received her beautician’s license certificate from the Phoenix Academy of Beauty Culture and worked many years as a beautician. She also attended and graduated from Glendale Community College with an Associates of Arts degree in Social Work. She also worked in elementary schools and was a social work caseworker.
But since her teenage years her mission in life was to have a family, children, and grandchildren. As the matriarch of her family she excelled in providing them unconditional love, care, compassion, generosity, grace and kindness. She treated her many friends with the same love. She leaves us with high standards for how to treat ourselves.
Lily was known for her perpetual smile, friendship, grace and kindness to all she touched. Lily believed in God, the saints and angels. She is not gone. She is God’s angel in charge of love and kindness, watching over us.
