

passed away on 12/20/2010. Louis Edward Rieckhoff, age 81 returned home to his Lord and Savior on December 2O,2010. He was a faithful member of Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, in Chicago, and then in Phoenix after moving to Phoenix in 1951. He was bom in Chicago, lllinois on June 9, 1929 to Emestine Karge Rieckhoff and Louis A. Rieckhoff. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Grace Ellen, and his children Lynn Lindell, (James), Kathy Allen, (Richard), Nancy Rieckhoff, and Tom Rieckhoff (Pamela). He was greatly loved and will be missed by his eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased in death by his brother, Henry, and sisters Leona and Edna. Louie worked as a Plumber and retired as a lifetime member of UA Local 469. After retirement he became active in the Granada Nelghborhood Association, where he volunteered in many capacities to make the Granada Neighborhood a clean, safe place to live. He served on many City of Phoenix committees to help support the Mayor and Council, and to bring neighborhood concerns to their attention. He was fondly called: "Louie, Mr. Good Neighbor."Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary located at 7924 N. 59 Ave. in Glendale on December 22, 2010 from 6-8 P.M., and funeral services will be held on Thursday December 23, 2010 at 1:30 at the mortuary. lnterment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family thanks the staff at Banner Thunderbird Hospital, 1A, and the Freedom Plaza Care Center for all of their care in the last six months.
