

Rastad, Lucille M. Ingebretson 92 of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 surrounded by family and friends at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, AZ. Lucille, daughter of Eli Luther and Bertha (Nelson) Ingebretson, was born Sept. 21, 1921 in Forest City, Iowa. On Oct. 4, 1949 she married Richard Rastad in Forest City, where they lived until moving to Arizona in 1956. During World War II she was a Wave in the U.S. Navy, serving as a 2nd Class Pharmacist Mate, stationed at Saint Albans Hospital in Lakehurst, NJ and then Norman, OK. Lucille's real loves while in the Navy were working the various other jobs she held, such as the hospital disc jockey, playing favorite requests from the servicemen, reporting the news as the hospital radio station liaison for visitors, which gave her the opportunity tomeet many celebrities. She then worked in the accounts payable department for the Phoenix Union High School District, retiring in 1982. She and Richard lived for a number of their retirement years in Alpine and Springerville, AZ. She had an open heart, embracing all that she met. She loved the Lawrence Welk Show, TV game shows, playing cards or doing craft work with her friends to help raise money for the community and attending church on Sundays. She is survived by her husband Richard; their son Richard "Paul"; daughters Sally, Peggy, Beth (Tommy), and Kristi; five grandchildren-Trina, Byron (Yurosha), Symon (Janelle), Krysdon and Dyllon; four great grandchildren-Ryan, Reagan, Brody, and Madden. She is also survived by her brothers Thomas "Thom" (Helen) and Chester (Gloria) Ingebretson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Barbara Krupp; brothers, Andrew (Hazel) and Robert Ingebretson. Services will be held on April 14 in the west chapel of Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave. in Glendale, AZ. Pastor Kim of Bethel Lutheran Church will be officiating. Viewing will be at 11am and services begin at 11:30am. There will then be a short graveside service at 2pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix.
