years, surrounded by family.
Marilyn leaves behind; her two sons, Fred and Kelly, her daughters Julia Gay and Carmelle, 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandbabies plus one on the way; and many close family and friends. Preceded by Jack her loving husband of 60 years, and two sons Gary and Tom Bomar.
Born in Sweetwater, TX, raised El Paso, TX and Tucumcari, NM. The daughter of Clyde and Francis Clark, sister to 3 siblings.
In her early years she was an active member of her church. She found great joy in serving the Lord and devoting her time to the church. At the young age of 17 she married her sweetheart. Soon after they moved to Arizona to start their family. Marilyn spent her time raising her five children, managing the house and taking care of her husband. One of the most challenging yet rewarding jobs is staying home to raise a family, and she did it with grace and dignity. When Marilyn was blessed with grandchildren she looked after them as her own.
Marilyn had a passion for singing; hearing her voice would bring you to tears. For fifteen years she had the pleasure to sing with the Scottsdale Sweet Adelines. She also sang with her dear friends for ten years in a group called Joyful Sound. She was so happy when they produced a cassette in 1988 and it was loved by all. She was a talented artist, acomplishing many murals, and pastel drawings.
A giver by nature she constantly gave her time to her family, church and friends. One of her favorite things to do was hold Sunday lunches with the entire family. Many fond memories were made over the time we all spent in her home enjoying food, family and worship. We all referred to the family house as Grandma’s. This was because it wasn’t just a house it was a home. A home she took great pride in and welcomed all who needed refuge. She was at her happiest when she was holding and playing with her babies, this brought her pure joy.
Marilyn found great comfort in the knowledge of finding her eternal peace and being reunited with her loved ones. She would always say "I give it to God, it's in his hands.” We can all hope to have her same positive steadfast belief in everlasting life.
John 14:1-3
1.“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also me. 2. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Thank you Grandma for showing us the way, selflessly taking care of us, giving us your love, generosity and hope. We love you always and forever
