

Marvin Edwards was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 15, 1920. He was reared on a farm that is now Alhambra High School. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1938. Later, he worked for the CCC, building cabins and surveying power lines around Kingman, Arizona. In 1941, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and rose in the ranks to Master Sergeant. During WWII, he maintained radio and radar electronics on B24s. After the war, he attended college and worked as a broadcast engineer at radio station KRUX where he met Francelle Julian. They were married on August 5, 1949. Later, he worked as an engineer at the CBS station's South Mountain tower complex. After graduating from ASU, he became a professor in the radio and television technology department at ASU, which became the Electronic Technology Department. Marvin was an avid HAM radio operator throughout his life.
In his last moments, Marvin became alert. Francelle recited this scripture, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever puts his trust in me will live, even if he dies; and everyone living and trusting in me will never die."
Then he left us.

Marvin J. Edwards is survived by his wife, Francelle, his three sons, Douglas, David and Darvin, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
