Mavis L. Jackson, born September 17, 1933, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, was the beloved daughter of James and Julia Fulks and the youngest of eleven children. At the age of two, she moved with her family to Glendale, Arizona, the place she would proudly call home for the rest of her life.
Mavis was the devoted mother of two daughters, Mary Lou and Betty Kay, who were the center of her world. She passed away on December 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by resilience, warmth, and a lifetime of devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Julia Fulks, all ten of her siblings, and her beloved husband of 71 years, Frank.
Mavis is survived by her daughters, Mary Lou Quinton (Bill) of Laveen, Arizona, and Betty Kay Lewis (Phil) of Arvada, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandson, Christopher Midgett (Nicole) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and her three great‑grandchildren — Riley, Cohen, and Eli Midgett — who brought her immense joy and pride.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Humane Society, honoring Mavis’s lifelong love and compassion for animals.
