Mike Do, beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away tragically on April 11th, 2025 in a motorcycle accident. He was surrounded in life by the unconditional love of his family, who remember him as truly an angel on Earth: gentle, kind, funny, and deeply compassionate.
Mike was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where he spent his childhood making joyful memories with his brothers, cousins, and friends. He loved riding bikes around the neighborhood, playing basketball and football, swimming, and hanging out at local fast-food spots. From a young age, Mike showed a strong work ethic often doing odd jobs around the neighborhood with his younger brother Brian, who was also his built-in best friend. The two pulled weeds, washed cars, and offered a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Mike had a deep and quiet love for his family. He loved his parents, recognizing the sacrifices they made for him and his five siblings. He frequently helped his father with yard work, gardening, and small home projects, and made a tradition of surprising his mom with her favorite caramel Frappuccino on Saturday mornings before she left for work. He shared a special bond with his youngest sister, Mila. Just the night before his passing, Mike called her into his room to give her ice cream and a Kuromi keychain he’d picked out just for her while out with his girlfriend.
A natural jokester, Mike’s smile and laughter could light up any room. He had an infectious energy and a gift for making people feel seen and loved. He adored children and often spoke of his dream to one day have a large family of his own.
Mike was also incredibly creative and had aspirations of starting his own business. He loved renovating homes, and had a growing interest in fashion design. He was imaginative, talented, and full of ideas.
Mike’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, Thuan and Thu, and his siblings: Lyna, Vuong, Quang, Brian, and Mila. He was preceded in death by his grandpa Dat Do.
A memorial service was held on two days, April 21 and 22, at West Resthaven Funeral Home. A Catholic priest led a beautiful prayer. The celebration was both wrenching and beautiful, and it captured how much Mike was loved.
