Aunt Reta always held a cherished place in my heart and became almost a mythical creature in our family's lore - the Ontario girl who went to the desert and raised her family amongst the cactus and poor hockey teams.

The few times I met her she treated me as if I mattered to her and her hospitality when Carol and I stayed in 1989 has never been forgotten.

I wear, on a daily basis, the simple copper ring she allowed me to choose from a (literal) pile of amazing native jewellery and Carol still wears the small silver earrings she selected.

My children and my brother never met Aunt Reta, but they certainly know of her and her legend.

We loved her and cherish her memory.

Ms  Reta was a  "real  gem"  I only knew  her  a  short time but I was very fond  of  her and  enjoyed her  company  very  much..She  was  a character and i  will  never  forget  her.  I know  her  family will miss  her  very  much and  my  heart  goes out  to  them at this  time .
